(NEXSTAR) — No, you don’t see anything. NBC’s Mike Tirico was in Beijing on Monday night. On Wednesday and Thursday nights, you’ll see him at NBC’s Connecticut studios. And this weekend, it will broadcast from the Super Bowl in Los Angeles.

“It’s a cool double,” Tirico told reporter Jack Doles. “It’s the biggest sporting event in the world in addition to the biggest sporting event in American sport.”

Tirico was originally scheduled to stay in Beijing until Thursday before heading to Los Angeles. NBC officials, however, reiterated that his schedule was subject to change depending on COVID-19 and other factors.

“It’s fun,” Tirico said with a laugh. “Logistics is logistics. We have the best teams working on it to allow me to host both shows. It’s easy.”

Although he certainly studies on long flights, Tirico said he tries to take an hour a day to prepare for the Super Bowl. He said he got up at 4 a.m. local time in Beijing to watch NFL conference championship games.

Tirico said he looks forward to big Super Bowl storylines, especially around the two quarterbacks. You can watch the full conversation with Doles in the video player above.

This is the first year that the Olympics and the Super Bowl have been held at the same time. Four years ago, Tirico missed the Super Bowl as he prepared for his first Olympics as a prime-time host in Pyeongchang.
